  1. Hi MorgusHroud, You said "Could it be glimpses from my past lifetimes maybe?" It could be. It could also be your connection to other people from other times or in the world now. In the end we are all connected, to each other, in the now, across the span of time, and if you practice moving your awareness a lot and intend to move and see, you will see a lot, from this world, from other worlds. The question is, to what ends are your traveling? You can actually learn to do this consciously, by your own intent, to go specific places, journey to specific times, see specific things or people. Imagine you exercised more and more control over this, MorgusHroud, and could see for yourself who it is you're connecting with. A thread of another person you inherited from another life? Someone else entirely that you intended to go and look at? It's a big universe out there, lots of adventures. In this tradition we practice something called awake dreaming, which isn't astral journeying, but a little more focused and deliberate. While awake we use our dreaming energy to move our awareness intentionally anywhere, to anyone, in place and time. It's a lot of fun, but we do it not just for kicks but to learn, to experience, to heal others. Mandy
  2. Hi KAF, Here's a distinction that might help. When you are asleep, your awareness slips into your dreaming energy and dreaming body. For most people it is difficult to be fully conscious during this sleep dreaming, but extreme clarity and movement is possible for many who have fluid dreaming energy. One thing possible to learn is how to develop control over your dreaming energy, so that when you wake up in your dreams you can move on the dreaming side and create at will. Mandy
  3. Whiteagle, Sorry I seemed to have cut out part of my reply:... ... "The maker cosmology is slightly different but not in contradiction to other shamanic perceptions and practices" in how it perceives reincarnation. It's not that we don't believe in previous lives, but that we are made out of building blocks of other past lives. In this tradition we've seen that each human comes from a pool of human energy, and that we each are compiled of fragments of many people who have lived in the past. So it isn't that we don't believe in reincarnation, but how we are re-incarnated. For example, that's why so many people in the same lifetime have claimed that they were Cleopatra in a past life: maybe they were all born with a thread of her energy. Will there ever be another, singular "me" after I die? No. But the energy of me, and the experiences and memories of being me that were added to it, returns to the pool of human energy. It's one great sustainable recycling system Can you access and remember these threads of different lives? Yes you can. Like you said, "a recycled soul contains experience from the soul it used to be". I hope this helps! Eman
  4. Whiteegle, A maker is energetically trained to have a wider world view and can see a lot. It is how I knew. We don't give readings or anything like that, but 'see' by virtue of our own energy and not with the aid of any medicinal ceremonial approaches like you mentioned. We believe your healing is in your own hands and not in the hands of anything external to you like spirits. The maker cosmology is slightly different but not in contradiction to other shamanic perceptions and practices. I hope this helps. I can see you have a lot of questions, we have an upcoming class session on recapitulation and one called quicksilver, which is all about awareness and perception. They might help you on your journey. Eman
  5. Hi Whiteeagle, As a rule of thumb, if you're under the influence of anything altering your perception energy body or awareness you aren't in total control of your energy: yes that would affect how well you would retrieve your energy. The maker tradition doesn't see that we have previous incarnations, rather that we are a composite of various human lives, of recycled threads of human energy that have come together temporarily. You can recap those threads. About curing impotence: anything is possible. The emotional / mental component can be and usually is reflected in the physical body. When you recap, Whiteeagle, take a look at when you were 7-8, also when you were 13-ish: there's a lot for you there to look at. I hope this helps. Welcome to the cave
  6. Hi Ash, The Maker tradition believes that we all make agreements and set intentions in our lives that set patterns, and can drain our energy. In our classes here at the cave we show you how to become aware of them, and how to break these patterns and agreements you've made over the course of your life so that you can take back the energy from them and create the reality and intend the life you want to have, instead of being stuck in some cycle. Until then, know that you *can* break these cycles. Hardships can come and go for everyone, but living intentionally is a game changer because it teaches you how to get out of hardships through energetic practices. If you are curious, and truly want to take back your energy and break the cycle of patterns that don't serve you but trap you, take a couple beginner classes here and find out how to do just that. At the end of the day we perceive reality as a construct we have the power to create. I'm seeing Recap 1/ Self-healing, and Spirals: Living intentionally. These two classes alone will change your life and break those cycles. I think the next round starts at the end of this month-- there should be an announcement in a coupe weeks or less. Mandy
  7. Hi KAF, Disrupted sleep is actually an indicator of an active dreaming side. I can see you definitely have a pretty cohesive dreaming body. Enjoy it: dreamers tend to have a lot of extraordinary adventures.
  8. Hi Salix. From a Maker perspective it sounds like you've experienced a strong connection with the elemental forces in nature. Trees and animals are pretty awesome, aren't they? Like humans, each life form has its own pool of energy. If you are intending, consciously seeking out a shamanic journey, your awareness will be opened to aspects of reality you might have not paid attention to before. We don't do symbolic interpretation per se here, but if you are consciously seeking out a deeper meaning to your existence and it is pulling you along a shamanic path, the world around you will begin to change and your mind will seek to interpret it through its familiar lenses or reference points. There are a lot of shamanic traditions out there, often with overlapping truths because in the end energetic truth is the same across the board. In this maker tradition though, we perceive that everything has its own power, its own will power and self-determination... in other words, we create our own reality and don't rely on other animals or trees to lend us their power, although we may sometimes work with them. It sounds to me like you are discovering and becoming conscious of the magical world we live in, something we humans often tend to barricade from our realities in our busy days filled with stuff and things You know, there are a lot of wonderful articles and posts about what this specific shamanic tradition is all about on shamanscave.com. There's even a search engine etc. This tradition is unique in the sense that we strive to regain and stand in our own power along our journey, but it is still very much an ancient shamanic tradition, just not in the medicine man or power animal sense that what I see is currently part of the contemporary understanding of shamanism. I hope this helps, and that your journey be filled with peace as well. Please come back with any other questions you may have. Mandy
  9. Hello again. The article links Christian posted are incredibly helpful. Grounding makes you feel better and calms your energy so can potentially avoid confrontations. I'm not familiar with that stance in your last post but yes: we are from earth and that's why grounding your energy with the earth's energy is really beneficial. In the end you just want to feel centered, calm and in control, it's the best position to stand in and face all experiences that come your way. Mandy
  10. Vasily, Let me tell you a story about an experience I had tonight while walking our puppy. There was an energetic residual of a dead person (you might call them ghosts but I don't use that word). It saw that I saw it, and was curious, so it followed me all the way home. At the front door, I told it that it did not have my permission to enter, and it left. I created no conscious agreement, but I did create an opening on the walk by my curiosity which allowed it to draw near me. If you don't want to be attacked, I would examine my desire for the communion, and look within to what pain you hold creates an unconscious agreement with this thing to attack you. In what areas do you currently see yourself energetically weakened? Find that "hook" as Cyfnos says, and sever it. Seeing other beings is fun and all that, but nothing can continue to invade your energy without some agreement. It could be something as simple as a feeling of unworthiness about something entirely different that had created the opening for a form of agreement. This is what I would do if I were you: stand your ground as a warrior and tell it, out loud, with strength, that it is not welcome and to be gone. IF it returns, ban it again and fight it off and tell it to never come back. Turn the tables. Changing the agreement between you and this boar-like thing will not change your ability to see other entities: you've simply drawn this one to you because it is attracted to your fear of it, and other emotions you've unconsciously made available to it. I will work on you too. We are here to help, hence the open forums, but Christian says it best: healing your own energy gives you control over these types of occurrences. If and when you can, even if it is in another place and time and not here, to heal your own energy (something every human can benefit from), is the best way to go. Vasily, come back in a couple days and give us an update. I would like to know any developments, and if I we can continue to help. Stand your ground, and be well. Mandy
  11. Very cool. Great manicure too, hand model!

    Ego

Hi Douglas. Simply put, in a nutshell, there is the real ego- the healed personality of a person, and then there is the mind's sense of it's self-importance- the ego born from being in the world. It's what takes things personally instead of being unattached and compassionate. It thinks the world of itself, and of the world. To me, the ego is like a thick layer of insulation in the attic. It shrouds you and your perception. It limits your movement because it directs your emotional reactions and as a result your energy. It isn't personal power, but the persona who judges one's self-worth by their looks, the car they drive, or their bank account. It's what tends to get hurt and angry and feels great self pity. Mandy

    Tired

One of the signs of someone marked for the shamanic path is a near-death experience. Another is sleep walking / talking, seeing the unseen, etc. I was pronounced clinically dead for 5 minus when I was 8- and I remember where i went and what i saw too. That article Christian linked you to is a great read. Mandy
  14. I've had many, but recently rereading this one posted on fb, I've gotta say it's my favorite. It talks about the second attention, something that language per se doesn't have a lot of signifiers for, and shapes it out in such a way that is readily accessible and engaging. http://www.shamanscave.com/contemporary-shamanism/the-second-attention I also used to enjoy reading Jean's old posts where she shared some of her shamanic experiences. They were a lot of fun for me earlier on, got me all revved up about the mysteries that awaited. Mandy

Thumb, just to add, to me, I don't see this as a rant but a conversation we've all benefited from. Welcome to the cave Mandy

    Tired

{{Thumb}} I think both Christian and Igacy offer you two different but powerful perspectives on what you're going through. It is a gift, truly, to spend time with someone at the end of their lives. It teaches you about life and death being part of one holistic cycle, and you can learn to be there and hold their hand for however long while developing detachment from their actual dying, so you won't get hurt. On the other hand, if this pattern in your life is becoming too painful, like Ignacy said just intend for another pattern. Intend for friends to come into your life who are going to stick around for a while too. I think both friendship positions will have a lot to offer you and teach you, just as you will have a lot to offer and teach the friends that are only passing through your life briefly, and the ones who will stay a little longer. It's very, very difficult to loose people you become attached to. When they unravel, the ones left behind are the ones who experience loss and pain, but truly it doesn't have to be that way. Understanding what death is as a transformation and unraveling from the human form doesn't have to be painful, but a natural part of the life and death cycle we all go through. We have an expression here in the Maker tradition, rather a name we call for people who help others pass over: Death Walker. When someone dies, a Maker can be there to help the dying person unravel their energy in a way that is not so terrifying or scary for the dying person, and help them make it more of a peaceful experience. Death, dear Thumb, is just as beautiful as birth. Mandy
  17. Hi Douglas, I personally have perceived that there are intelligences in the universe that are greater than me, and that I'm not fully familiar with what they are yet, but I suppose other paradigms of other individuals would use the signifier "God"- although it is such a blanket term to me. I do think there is a design in the universe that is greater than me as an individual, but that I am a part of too, and as a Maker I add my own footsteps to the design and evolution of the universe. It isn't in conflict with what I am or what power I wield. For example, before coming to the cave, when I used to have a prophetic dream or a moment of 'seeing' (aka clairvoyance but we say 'seeing' - long story), I believed that an external force allowed me to have that extra ordinary ability. If I went to another dimension in dreaming, I thought a higher force lead me there and 'allowed me' that experience. But I did that all on my own, with my own power, and not because a greater power enabled me to do so. I can tell you that the teachings here really don't focus on looking outside of you for answers, but focus on universal energetic laws that help you heal, become, tap into your own infinite potential in a tradition and practices that are outside the discourse of religion and God. It is about learning to stand and your own power, and becoming powerful to act and create. Because it is a tradition and not a religion, there isn't really an emphasis on a higher creator here it's just not part of the conversation per se, although it is a question everyone usually comes to There are people here at the cave who come from backgrounds of various religious exposures-- including Christianity, Islam, Judaism, etc., but the Maker tradition has nothing to do with religion but energy and the individual Maker, who through their own initiatives become active co-creators in this ever-evolving multi-universe creation we are a part of. I feel it transcends the God / religion relationship. Mandy

    unsure

{{Waynard}} To add to what Kai said, one of the things we ultimately teach here is how to use your own abilities, with your own energy, to help heal others' energy without internalizing it yourself. It sounds like you are naturally talented and gifted, but that can also feel like an alienating burden in the world. But there are others like you. And your psychic abilities of premonition... we call it seeing. Like Kai said, grounding yourself, and self-healing through recapitulation, will ultimately help you be who you are in the world without suffering from it-- whether or not you feel the shamanic path is the path for you. I wish you the best. Know that you are not alone and you can always post here and ask for advice. But please do consider taking the recapitulation: self-healing class, next time it is offered. From personal experience I can tell you that it is a great tool that can leave you unflickering in the maelstrom. Mandy
  19. {{Ghost of Zane}} Not to undermine how emotionally awful nightmares can make you feel, especially when you can't wake up from them, but sometimes nightmares can be a sign of sinking deeply into your dreaming energy while also being a little awake at the same time, so kind of in between. Because strong dreaming energy can be unfamiliar to your mind, the mind often recoils and translates the dreamscape into something negative and alarming. I used to have nightmares but not so much anymore. Now, when I do, I get all excited, because I know as a maker that I was doing some cool dreaming stuff that is elaborated more on in the Dreaming 1 Class. Remember, it's your dream: draw a mirror or a door and leave through it and go somewhere else if you need to. Mandy
  20. {{Heather}} It was mostly my dreaming activity that drew me to seek answers and brought me here, among other experiences. I think when a person is energetically bent and experience things outside the sphere of what is considered normal human experience they want to understand. This tradition places a lot of emphasis on self-healing when you start out- self healing through retrieving your energy from life's traumatic impact. The more energy you retrieve, the more you are able to see clearly and take control of your life. As you've said, self-healing is an ongoing process and is a good thing. I do hope you have the opportunity to take a recapitulation class or work on it yourself (there are articles available on the shamans cave site). But, welcome to the cave, and I hope we can assist you on your journey. Mandy
  21. {{Sandstorm333}} I personally don't know what Firehorse is, but I can see that you are alive because you want to be. I hope you're enjoying the ride Welcome to the cave. Mandy
  22. Sacred Spirit, $65 dollars is a small amount that goes towards maintaining the website servers, etc. Not a single person financially benefits here. We all teach because we are passing the tradition on to those who are called to it, are making the time and energetic investment for newcomers as it has been so willingly and patiently been made available to us (me). We pay as students because it costs money to provide an online forum in which we are able to teach you, freely, for free. So really, you aren't paying for classes, knowledge, or teachers, but for the online access cost shared by all participants. You are here because you have shown the potential to learn. The rest is up to you, friend. Oh, and you don't get a piece of paper at the end of a class validating some perceptual construct "certification", this isn't your run of the mill online class setup. Intenting you more clarity on this, and please hang on to your hat because you're in for a ride no amount of money can ever buy. Mandy
  23. {{Lexi}} It's not fun being sick, is it? Sometimes illness manifests itself through our bodies but it's often rooted in our entire energetic chemistry. Self-healing through the recap exercise is a wonderful way of taking charge on your journey of well-being and even helps you gain the detachment Lorrie also suggested. Your dreaming sounds 'normal' to me and to anyone else who is energetically bent and on the shamanic path. Personally, my dreaming activity was one of the starting points in my own journey as a maker. It showed me there was a much larger world out there to discover, it was exhilarating to be able to move around on that side and go places, get answers. I hope you feel better, and welcome to the cave. See you around
