  1. Sorry, no, we don’t work with spirit animals nor guides in the context they’ve become to be known in recent times. We tend to work with energy in a more direct manner. Lorrie
  2. Hello Naeranira, I personally don't feel that you are possessed but that decision will need to come from you ultimately, of course. Possessions by entities do occur but I don't think it's as common as many people think. The main reason people get possessed is really that they 'allow' themselves to get hooked emotionally with something that draws energy off an emotion that is prevalent in their energy, usually it's fear or anger but it could be grief as well. By people holding on to these emotions, from past experiences that are now embedded into their energy, they create openings for other things that feed off of those emotions to set hooks into them. But we can drain our own energy in a similar fashion, just by keeping the past alive inside us, which we all do. The simple but not easy or quick solution is to remove the hooks and openings where you are susceptible. So how do you go about removing that susceptibility, how do you reach a place of detachment where you are no longer drained by the events and emotions of your past or susceptible to triggers from outside sources? It's a self-healing process that takes time. Our whole first tier here is designed to help people self-heal to a point where they feel in control of their energy, they understand why they are the way they are and how their life events and cultural patterns brought them to their current situation. That takes time but you can start bringing relief right now by working with the recapitulation exercise posted below. I would also recommend taking Recapitulation I, if you can. It is a beginner class and you would get support here from us directly as you go through the process. The Recapitulation process is the first step in self-healing as it is about recovering energy tied up in your past memories and experiences, you will need this energy to be recovered in order to move on to higher levels of training in this tradition but in and of itself, if you go no further, the recapitulation will bring you back to a place of balance. It can bring you to a place where you have the clarity to see the path to create the life you want to live. It won't be easy, it won't be fast, but it truly works if you put the effort in and the work you do will create lasting, permanent, positive change. We recently started the Recapitulation I class, I can check if you would like to join in late, I think they have had two classes out of eight. It's not too late to join but after this week, it would be best to wait until the next session sometime probably end of May, beginning of June. (the class costs $75). The next class is tomorrow night - Saturday, April 14th at 10PM ET). Regardless, the exercise below will take you a long ways by itself, it is the first exercise given in the class. Just let me know if you are interested in joining in, if you put the time and effort in to working with this technique, you will not regret it. Lorrie Link to article on site Theory of Recapitulation The theory of recapitulation is simple. Every interaction you have had with other people in your life has tied up personal energy. Each memory you have requires energy to keep it alive and maintain the emotions you have about the encounter. Over the course of a lifetime, you invest enormous amounts of energy in these things and they drain you, make you miserable, and create behavior in the present predicated on the energies of the past. You will be surprised after doing even a partial recapitulation at how much energy it was taking on a daily basis to keep those things from the past alive in the present. Shamans know, or have seen, that we as human beings do not have an infinite amount of personal energy. We need every little scrap available to us in order to live life effectively or for shamans, to accomplish the tasks that they feel lie before them. Modern psychologists try to do much the same thing as the recapitulation for their patients. On an energetic level, the changes in individuals are quite profound, even for those who practice it purely for reasons of self-healing. You will be surprised after doing even a partial recapitulation at how much energy it was taking on a daily basis to keep those things from the past alive in the present. Recapitulation Exercise The physical process is simple and is as follows: You can make a list - of people, experiences, life events - and follow it, not a bad idea actually, or pick a time period of your life that you are going to recap. The technique is very simple. Begin by arranging some time that you won't likely be disturbed. You will need a space that compresses your energy. A closet would do, or even putting a heavy blanket over you will work as well. Quiet your mind and relax, setting the intent to retrieve your energy trapped in your past. Bring up a specific memory or event. Get it pictured right in front of your face in as much detail as possible. (Colors, sounds, smells, people involved, etc.) Turn your head to the left and exhale, then slowly turn your head from left to right drawing in the energy of the scene in front of you with your breath (inhale). When your head is completely to the right again, turn slowly back to the left exhaling the foreign energy (that which is not yours) that exists from the scene. Keep sweeping the scene until you feel 'done' with it. Go on to the next event on your list, or that comes to mind, and keep doing this until you have worked through each one. Be aware of what you are doing and stay focused. If you're just starting the recap, I would suggest fifteen to twenty minutes a day just to start out, give it two weeks, then take stock of where you are. When you are finished the first time you may feel a little lightheaded, that's normal. It means something is changing. If the memories you are working with are especially painful or traumatic, it may take a number of recapitulations to completely suck the energy back out of them. You will know it is working when you recall one of the memories and find that the emotions it was evoking in you have lessened, or even completely disappeared. Sometimes you may look at them and feel like they aren't even your memories - they seem as though they happened to someone else. This is a start; you may want eventually to do a complete recapitulation. Shamans are never done recapitulating; it is done over and over through a lifetime. There are other techniques that can be added to this, but this is the core of recalling personal energy to yourself from the past. The other methods seem too theatrical to me, too much symbolism to be immediately useful. It may seem silly at first, but if you keep it up it will make a major change in you, give you more clarity and change the perspective from which you make decisions now in your life. Now, you may ask, 'Why the recap and not (fill in practice of your choice)?' The reason the recap works when many other things only appear to work is twofold. One, it is a real physical/energetic connection in your energy - it is a physical act through your energy, and because of that it involves you completely in the process. Two, the recapitulation demands that you work at the process of first, self healing and then movement beyond healing into the shamanic. You can't just say you recap and expect everything to be 'all wonderful and stuff'. You can't just say, "I forgive X for dumping crap in my life," and expect it to work either; there must be a physical and energetic breaking of those connections. This is real, not illusory in terms of changes. It may seem silly at first, but if you keep it up it will make a major change in you, give you more clarity and change the perspective from which you make decisions now in your life. Let me add a couple of things here. The recap is real, but unlike other methods I have seen, even some claiming to be recapitulation, this process ends in nothing less than a transformation of the individual practicing it. Don't take it lightly. If you like your life just the way it is, don't start the recap. One of the things that bother me about other approaches is that they go nowhere. People use the techniques, but no change or progress is made. I think that is attributable to a single reason. No one ever talks about the patterns created through connections, or how the ghosts of those connections remain in your energy like the grooves on a record and they will try to re-exert themselves again if you don't erase them. As you recap, you will find that to be the case over and over again - circumstances will seem to conspire to get you back into a pattern, which you have recently been recapping. The difference comes in recognition and the ability to be detached from the pattern enough not to repeat it. But the ways in which this occurs, the re-exertion can at the least, be entertaining.

  4. ShamansCave is pleased to announce our 53rd class session. Beginning classes include: RECAPITULATION - The Path of Self Healing (8 weeks) For those wishing to walk a shamanic path, self-healing is the first and most important part of that path. Self-healing is the long journey within, but it begins with a single step. Nobody can walk that path for you, but there is knowledge and practices for seekers who want to move beyond the chains of the past. One of those practices is the recapitulation - a fundamental exercise to retrieve our energy trapped in the past and to release outside energy which isn't our own. Recapitulation I begins: Satruday, March 31st, 2018 - 10:00PM -11:30PM ET(US) * Class fee: $75 Sign up here: http://www.shamanscave.com/classes/online-classes Free Spirals I - Handling Living Intent (7 weeks) This class examines in detail the ways in which our own intent and that of others impacts us in the world. It begins with an examination of what intent is exactly and how it directs our lives. We will explore the nature of intent itself as an energy and the ways in which shamans handle intent in their own lives and use it to impact the world. Intent is not about wishing upon a star, yet the way in which it impacts everything both in us and around us is vital to understand for anyone pursuing a shamanic path. The class is a seven week intensive about the nature of intent, with appropriate exercises and practices Classes will begin: March 23rd (Class is full) We are working on a video version of the class on YouTube. To be notified when this class is available, you can sign up here: https://www.shamanscave.com/component/com_chronoforms5/Itemid,1269/view,form/ DREAMING I Awakening the Dreamer Within (7 weeks) The shaman walks a world which is both awake and asleep, but neither one completely. This class is not a dream interpretation and lucid dreaming class - it goes much deeper. We begin to frame the dreaming side of the shaman's world, see how and why it's used, how dreaming touches upon everything. To seek the shamanic path, the dreamer must awaken, must step beyond the confines of everyday dreams and thoughts, fears and nightmares, and open up a larger vision. Dreaming as a shamanic practice is explored in depth in order to understand, control, and move through dreaming energy. The focus of this first class is our dreaming energy from the asleep position, but it also touches upon awake dreaming Classes will begin Sunday, April 1st, 2018, 9:30 pm - 11:00 pm ET (US) Class fee: $65 Sign up here; http://www.shamansca.../online-classes
  5. Hello all, The public Q&A has been rescheduled to next Wednesday, same time, 9:00 PM. You can join the chat here: https://www.shamanscave.com/irc/irc.html Hope to see you there, Lorrie
  6. Hi Wolfqueen, I would say that it's best to trust your own intuition on these types of things. Listen to your own feelings on this and don't rely on outside sources to define you. So, if you feel you are a wolf or connect with wolves, then accept that as true and then try and explore what that means for you. How does your 'wolfness' affect how you move in the world? When did it start? Has it always been there? Following and exploring these connections can teach you a lot about yourself. Lorrie
  7. Hi Scott, I am not familiar with this retreat. Sorry to not be of more help. Lorrie
  8. Hi Anthony, First of all, no one has a right to your energy except you and you can reclaim it. You are welcome to take our Recapitulation class which will be offered in January ( the starting date will be pushed out a week or so from what it currently states). https://www.shamanscave.com/classes/online-classes/beginner-class-recap-1-detail. This class is all about reclaiming lost energy and how to prevent future loss. If you don't want to do that or want to start right away, I would suggest making a list of all the people, places, events that is draining your energy that you can think of. Once you have your list, use the basic Recapitulation exercise in the link ow and go through your list, taking your energy back piece by piece. The exercise is basic but very powerful still, the class goes into much more detail. https://www.shamanscave.com/self-healing/the-recapitulation Basically, you need to gain the tools/knowledge to reclaim your energy and to prevent more loss. Lorrie
  9. Hello Hashim, The simple answer to your question is yes, you can recover your energy. Your energy is yours alone and no one else has a right to it. And I won't tell you that they can't steal but I will say that they can't steal without your agreement on some level. I don't do conventional soul retrievals. Personally I would use the Recapitulation Exercise found through the link or below. You can use your missing pieces to connect to the memories around them and what has happened to them, treat them as if they were memories and take your energy back. Good luck, Lorrie Recapitulation Exercise The physical process is simple and is as follows: You can make a list - of people, experiences, life events - and follow it, not a bad idea actually, or pick a time period of your life that you are going to recap. 10. Hi again Discokat, My answer to your question here is similar to your dreaming one. You clearly have something going on with the configuration of your energy that's been confirmed by different people on a number of occasions. But the meaning of what the flashing black and white means in your energy can only be answered by the guy who told you that because I'm betting that what he saw was a metaphor of what he 'saw' in your energy and that metaphor, although it could be very insightful if decoded, is determined by his personal history and makeup. So do you see where I'm going with this? It's not that what he and other people saw are invalid, it's just that it needs to be decoded from the filters/biases/agreements our culture and life places on us as we learn to live within our society. Also, I'm feeling that you probably know, in your own terms, what this means about you. If you have this powerful configuration in your energy then I'm thinking that throughout your life you may have noticed that you know things or can do things that other people can't do, you've noticed the difference in some way. Lorrie
  11. Hi Discokat, Here we look at energy at its most fundamental energetic level. In order to do that, you have to do a lot of self-healing to recognize and heal old patterns, recover energy that is stuck in the past and stalk your expectations and cultural agreements because they bend your perception to fit in the 'box' you've created for yourself in this world. We seek to gain clarity by gaining a level of detachment through self-healing. I am not in any way trying to negate your experience, I believe something happened, it's just that without that detachment through self- healing, things tend to be presented very metaphorically, especially through sleep dreaming. The place you describe does not sound familiar to any dream place I've gone. So all I can suggest is to be your own detective and look within your own energy for clues. If you know how to work with intent or dreaming energy, you could intend to go back there and learn more in another dream. Sorry I can't be of further help, Lorrie
  12. Hi Katie, You might try putting yourself around where you know there is the energy of dead people, say walk a cemetery and see what you can perceive. You could try to verify what you find if you can look up names from the gravestones in public records if there are any. You're right, it is a matter of practice and putting yourself in situations where you can verify what you see will help you develop your ability. Lorrie
  13. Hi Katie, I'm sorry for your loss. My opinion is that he most likely did try to contact your mother but she probably wasn't able to perceive him like you were. I think he then went to you because you, as you said, are bent towards death walking so you are more sensitive to the energy of the dead. Perhaps this might provide a little more comfort for your mother. Lorrie
  14. I believe the accepted definition is something along the lines of a sense of 'oneness' of being in the state where one is aware that 'everything is connected' to the point where you can't discern the 'self' from 'everything else.' For a maker, this is the state where we move to to 'move energy,' it's where true power lies. To reach that requires self-healing, letting go of the hold of the ego and mind to start. The actual steps on how to do that are difficult to lay out but if you are holding on to your self-importance, if you are allowing your emotional patterns to drive your behavior and thinking, you will not be able to reach it very well, if at all. So, the first steps to reaching it are all about healing the self, undoing the limits that our culture imposes upon us starting at birth. It can be a long road and not an easy one but if you have the will to see it through, it can be done. Lorrie
  15. Hi Pamela, Welcome In this case, you are responsible for your perception of the situation. Viewing yourself as a victim (or fortunate) is on you. Otherwise, the situation simply is what it is - an event - an act.. Sorry I don't want to sound too zen about it but with regards to healing, it's more important to focus on why you felt the way you did about this situation than on what exactly happened. If you ask yourself the question, "Why does it matter? And why should I care? Then your answers to those questions should point you in the direction of what needs healing. Lorrie.
  16. Please join us for our next general discussion session in in the public chat channel Wednesday, March 15th at 9:00 PM ET. This is a general topic session so all questions are welcome. Hope to see you there.

  18. Ticklebits, I just wanted to add that you can always reach out to us for support, of course.
  19. Hi Tickelbits I wanted to join in here and say that the best and most lasting solution to changing the dynamic of feeling drained of feeling like a doormat (either a 'sorry' or 'welcome' one) of the living, the dead and the energetic beings taking from you, either by asking for your help in a way that drains you or by attempting to work against you through dark practices - the best, way at this point, is still the recapitulation. The reason you are where you are right now, is a result of not only who you were when you came into this world but more importantly, the events in your life you have lived through. In other words, you have created your life, not by active choice but by your reactions. I want to be clear, although I am saying that you are responsible for where you are right now, I'm not blaming you or think you should blame yourself or that others did not do you harm or wrong. But if you can get to a place where you see how the flow of your life events brought you to where you are today, that empowers you to let go of what is not serving you and start creating the life you want. So what that means with the Recap, is that you have to be ruthless, like a detective on a case or a hound on a trail, and track down all the places you have trapped energy. This means tracking down, back to birth all the twists and turns your life has taken, all the events, now there as memory but not 'just' memory, they still are very much alive with the original feelings and emotions that happened in the moment. Go back to them and take your energy back with the recap movement until they are just memories, with no emotional pull or sting when you recall them. I know this is a lot, it takes a long time to go through it all but I don't think anyone ever regrets the time they spend on recapping. If you are looking for a key place to start, I would recap your ex., the father of your son but don't recap your son, he needs you still and needs to have the connection with you. You can recap your sister, even though she depends upon you as she is an adult, although you may want to wait a bit as it will change your relationship with her. you'll know when it's right. If you go after your healing like this, as a warrior, determined to get back your energy from wherever it's been tied up, you will one day be amazed how your life has changed. Sometimes it's quick and sometimes it's gradual but most people are stunned that it can really change for real. I think many people feel that life is put upon them and they are helpless because it's out of their control. It's not and you can really get back to the you you were when you came into this world and be empowered to create the life you want. I believe you can do it, I hear it in your voice, you are willing to do what you need to change, that's really the hardest part, most people aren't willing to change even though they are miserable. Lorrie
  20. Hi Nakojo, Thanks for keeping us posted. By hook, I mean basically, her unhealed wound. It's the unhealed part of her that causes her to accept this connection with the energy because in some way, she is substituting it for real healing from within. The energy, likewise, has a 'need' that is drawn to her pain, not a healthy mix. So, as she heals that wound, the opening that has been created that has attracted this and maybe other things will close. Dream well, Lorrie
  21. Hello Nakejo, From what you described, I think my first step would be to identify where the 'hook' is in her from her father. What, in her, is it attached to and also, it can help to flip the situation and ask 'What does she get out of this?" Does she get to be helpless and have others take care of her? Does she get control or revenge on someone else by not being able to contribute due to being in this situation? It can help create clarity around where the agreement to be controlled by her ancestor/father lies. If you can identify that, then it's a matter of working with her to self-heal and release that need. If there is nothing for the entity to hook on to anymore, it will go away. You can also try trapping it by offering it 'bait' of what it wants and try to draw it away but if its personal as in an ancestral line, that probably won't work. But again, I think the first step is to clearly identify what it wants or gets from her and that will lead you to the solution. Please let us know how you make out. Lorrie
  22. Hi Babylace, I wouldn't be too concerned about it. Unless you knew what you were doing at the time, probably not much happened. Another words, it takes more than just the physical act of touching the blood to really affect things negatively.
  23. Hey Shelby, We have a distance healing group here that meets every Monday night. We typically don't do ongoing healing work with people. We typically do one session and follow up sessions as needed. It may not be exactly what you're looking for, we can do a healing and give you feedback on what we find. I'm sure it's no surprise by now, but we handle healing past lives a little differently here, so I'm not sure we can accommodate your request as specified but we still may be able to help with healing. If you'd like to put yourself in for a session, you can PM me or Gary or really, any of the faculty, we are pretty much all in the healing group. What we need to know is what you want healed and basically any relative factors that you know of, even if they don't seem logical. There is no fee but if you'd like to bring candy to a future workshop, I'm sure it would be appreciated :-) Lorrie
  24. *Lorrie gives Douglas a gold star
  25. Hello Helen, That does sound like a very stressful situation. My go to practice for many things concerning recovering strength and clarity is the simple but powerful Recapitulation Exercise here: http://www.shamanscave.com/self-healing/the-recapitulation If you don't have time to read the full article, scroll down to the exercise section. I would set aside 15 minutes per day to practice recapping. It can be used in many different ways but for your situation, I would simply use it to recap your day, go through your day and recap your experiences. What the recap will do is help you to release what is not yours and recover the energy you've invested in it. For an empath, the key to not taking on other's 'stuff' is in being able to recognize what is yours and what isn't. If you use it to go through your day and take back what is yours and release what isn't, it should help give you the strength and clarity you are looking for. Best wishes, Lorrie
