Greetings and blessings to all. I am an eclectic North European tradition Heathen. I have been using shamanic techniques for about 20 years. My wife and I are Asatru, meaning true to the old gods, and are both Goddess centered pagans. I am retired after 30 years in Criminal Justice and now spend my time preparing for my transition to the Other World. Please don't take that as a negative, I don't mean "suicidal", just an awareness of the need to die with no regrets. My main spiritual practice. now, is dream work. I have had numerous contacts with the Norse and Celtic Gods and Animal Powers. I send Thor and Freyr's Blessings to you all.

Welcome to our public forum! Shamanscave.com and the public and private forums are dedicated to the teaching of the Maker tradition. Everyone is welcome to post here no matter what path you are on. And I personally love to learn about traditions and knowledge that I don't know much about. I think all the pagan/heathen and shamanic traditions walk similar paths and so it's always interesting to me when people share knowledge about their particular paths. The makers are western  shamans that have  their origins in Europe. Shamanscave was created from an American lineage that came over from Europe a few hundred years ago. But we have makers that live and practice in Europe, Australia and New Zealand. 

Congratulations on your retirement, I hope you find what you are looking for in your preparing to transition to the Other World (Hopefully a long time from now. )

It's amusing how this forum is almost overtaken by people jarring about Norse paganism, including myself. Although I could also comment more on Finnish side of things if anyone asked :-D

Maybe it is some sort of magnetism causing this "invasion" but at least it is an invasion, from neighboring cultures, it is not wholly alienated - even if maker shamanism does seem somewhat Indian / Chinese influenced, which it probably is not thought considering it's origination. 

Me on the other hand, I'm here to represent myself, looking for help, and depending on your religion might appear as Loki or other sort of contradictory figure. At least that is how I feel when I'm commenting, can't say because I don't see your gestures :-D. Simplification of this is that my opinions might not represent maker's either, just a guest on this forum too.

☺️ Norse Heathenism is growing in the consciousness of us who are North European descended because of the breakdown of the transparent fraud of our dominant religion. Hopefully, a depth of soul will return to us.

Welcome, I am Asatru as well; since my introduction to it 23 years ago.  I was on the other side of the system in jail, but that was then.  I too am retired now and know well anything you wish to speak of Asatru, Shaman, or otherwise.

I don't check these forums often, but I always try to keep up with good folk.  Blessings to you.

And the same greetings to you, by the way, kinsman!  I am not a fan of technology by nature, but that, honestly just kind of fell into my lap.  I work from home which however does suit me because I get to be alone and read books and practice.  I do practice solo, and such like that.  I've had an adventurous life which ... lol now is mostly retirement and Shamanism, and that's the funny part, because Shamanism is anything if not adventurous.

There are more videos always coming on the afore-mentioned channel.  It's mostly military gaming because irl I am military, but I'll tell you that my true passions are exploring, hunting, books, and languages.  Perhaps boring... but I've worked enough that I can finally enjoy those and learn.

I, too, am retired. I have thirty years in the military and law enforcement. It's difficult to maintain a positive mind as we are living through the dissolution of the current world system. I've been in a war for this system and have enforced its laws for many years and I feel betrayed by it, but I try to move past that and be the best husband I can be while working on my own self-evolution.

I agree with you completely on that.  It's become part of my brain; but that's okay... The way I see it is I have added answers to variables that were beforehand lingering in my brain.  This is one reason I find comfort in books.  I can read of others' experiences and languages and not have to go there.  No, it's not a lazy outlook, but rather one of wisdom and foresight - or at least that is what I tell myself.  I do still experience what I read.  

The current book I'm reading is by Sade.  That's an experience.  So there's that.
